What do will be covered in this program?
Foundations of feminist leadership
We will start off by clarifying coaching goals and digging deep into how feminist leadership values (equity, care, shared power) have been operating for you. We also map the current leadership stage, strengths, and tensions. This forms the basis for our journey contract.
Identity and power
In this session, we will look at how identity and power operate in your existing leadership practice and their impact on your leadership. In particular, we will explore how identity shapes power and access and map personal power sources, constraints, and positional influence. Lastly, we identify leverage points for shifting power in practice.
Systems, power and culture
Systems, culture, and structural change are essential for feminist leaders because they address root causes of inequality, shift power beyond individual acts to lasting institutional practices, and create environments where equity, care, and shared leadership can be sustained. In this session, we will look at these issues using practical examples and identify small and structural interventions that you can apply in your leadership.
Inclusive communication and feedback
Feminist leaders need inclusive communication and feedback skills to ensure all voices are heard, surface and address power dynamics, and create trusting spaces where accountability and learning can flourish. In this session, we focus on courageous conversations, inclusive facilitation, and giving/receiving feedback.
Boundaries, care and resilience
Boundaries, care, and resilience are vital for feminist leaders to sustain their work, prevent burnout, model healthy norms, and ensure that caring practices are woven into organisational structures rather than left to individuals. In this session, we explore the practices for boundary setting, workload design, and collective care.
Strategic influence and coalition building
Strategic influence and coalition-building enable feminist leaders to expand their impact by aligning allies, amplifying marginalised voices, and leveraging collective power to change policies and practices. We will explore both influence and coalition and identify ways to leverage it for feminist leadership and management
